This charming 1917 bungalow in Uptown OKC is centrally located. It is walking distance to great bars, coffee shops, restaurants, pastry shops, boutiques, and brunch spots in the Western Ave District. It is 1 mile from Paseo Arts District, 1.5 miles from Uptown 23rd District, 2.5 miles from Plaza District, 3 miles from Midtown District, and 4 miles from Downtown OKC. Well appointed kitchen and bar area, WIFI w/Apple TVs, and expansive front porch.

Good to know

2 bedrooms (one with queen bed and one with full bed; Jack & Jill bathroom w/bath & shower). Bonus loft with full bed (it is only accessible with a library ladder, and it’s difficult to control the heat/AC in the loft so it’s not listed as a bedroom). TV with Apple TV in the living room an in the main bedroom. Full kitchen with 1/2 bath. Laundry room. Positioned on a corner lot with large front porch. Charming sunroom off the main bedroom for drinking coffee in the mornings. Fully fenced backyard for pets.

Other Details to Note

This is a 100+ year old house with imperfections and signs of age. If you are looking for a flawless, newly-renovated type of home, this is not the airbnb for you. The HVAC system is brand new but keep in mind, the original windows are single-paned so the thermostat can’t always reach extreme low or high settings. The loft area is a bonus area that is not included in the listing, so you may access it at your own risk, but the temperature doesn’t regulate well up there and you might see a little dust. I have the house sprayed regularly for pests, but again it is a 100 year old home. We ask that you don’t leave pets unattended. The wood floors are distressed with some creaks and cracks that I have intentionally left to maintain the original character of the home. I’ve done my best to update parts of this home while maintaining its original charm. Given the single pane windows and the proximity to Western Ave. (a 2-lane thoroughfare), there is some traffic noise due to cars traveling at the 30 mph speed limit. Please be aware of the following potential fees: - There is an additional fee PER PET. - We offer a 1-hour early and late checkout for an additional $20 fee. - Smoking indoors will result in an additional $500 cleaning fee. - Lost items can be returned for a fee of $30. - There is a fee of $100 for unauthorized late checkouts past 11. - We have a "minut" noise/ smoke monitor inside the property. 3 notifications over 80 decibels will result in a $50 fee and we may ask your group to leave the property. - Date change requests are subject to a $30 fee along with the potential rate increase due to supply and demand for the date requested.

Additional guests beyond what is on your reservation is not allowed unless the host approves in advance. - We have a "minut" noise/ smoke monitor inside the property. It only monitors decibels and will not record conversations. - No smoking indoors. Smoking indoors will result in an additional $500 cleaning fee. - Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that you keep quiet hours from 10 pm until 8:00 am. If you are looking for a place to party, this rental is not for you! - Inform host before check-in if you plan to bring your pet. There is an additional fee per pet. We love hosting your furry friends, but it can create a lot of wear and tear on our place. We appreciate you keeping them off all furniture and crated when not under direct supervision. No aggressive dogs are allowed. Please don't leave dogs unattended and clean up after them. - Use coasters on wood surfaces. Avoid leaving standing water on countertops. Do not set hot items directly on counters. - Lost items can be returned for a fee of $30. - Please rinse and leave dirty dishes in the dishwasher. - Please leave trash outside the front door. - Aside from expected use (such as dirty dishes, dirty linens, etc.) please leave the property the way you found it. - Checkout is 11. There is a fee of $100 for unauthorized late checkouts past 11. Please request a late checkout the night before, if needed. - If temperatures are below 32 degrees outside, please drip the faucets to keep them from freezing.

Accessibility

Neighborhood

There are a lot of great restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. If you head north on Western Avenue you’ll find some of my favorite spots: Sushi Neko for sushi, VZD’s for drinks and pub food, A Date With Iris if you want fresh flowers or need a small gift. The Wedge has great pizza (the walk is a little further north up Western; just under a mile). There’s also a gourmet spice shop called Savory Spice Shop if you want to spend a night in, cooking in the kitchen. If you walk two short blocks down 38th St. to the West (to your right when you step off the front porch) there’s a boutique hotel down the street called Bradford House. It has a great restaurant and bar, and there’s a bakery inside with some of the best pastries in town.

The area is walkable, but if you’d like to venture to another district, Ubers and Lyfts are typically readily available. There are often shared electric scooters sprinkled along Western Ave which is a great way to hop over to the Paseo and Uptown districts.
